My first reaction was very null-seccy, but when I put myself in the shoes of a WH player, it all started to make more sense.

Null never really had terrain in a real sense, and that's a shame. I wouldn't want to rob WH space of that unique feature. In fact, I'd prefer to add it into nullsec too!Talvorian Dexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01349917611382684205noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4159840807393856856.post-55537778371345362122016-08-16T03:35:10.379-04:002016-08-16T03:35:10.379-04:00"From a lore perspective, it didn’t make sens..."From a lore perspective, it didn’t make sense that one’s consciousness could be swapped when you died (all medical clones were in k-space, after all), but not when you wished."

From a lore perspective... Bloodjumping or POD death does not, and cannot, work in Anoikis... ever.

The transmission of data in New Eden, whether comms, "local" or the instantaneous transmission of the gestalt of YOU... the data that is sent from your POD as it is breached (in the nanoseconds after your POD, not the breach nor your opponent) kills you. All of the yottbyte's of data is transmitted over the gates/stations/structures-in-space interconnected WAN called the Neocom.

There are NO GATES in Anoikis and only one wormhole has stations, Thera, and Thera is not (as far as many of those of use who LIVE there feel) a part of the Anoikis cluster so there is no Neocom connection into or inside Anoikis... hence mo local, hence no clone jumps... well, except that totally unexplained and completely unsupported by the lore POD death or Bloodjump to your Home station clone bay.

"...moreover, it struck me as an unnecessary limitation."

It's not Tal... it should be an impossible limitation. But... EVE is a game, it is CCP's flagship (and only money manking) product and perma death is not fun nor is it good for business...

BUT... I DO DO DO like the idea that once you have a Citadel in a hole with a CLone Bay that "should" automatically become your DEFAULT Medical Clone home station... whether you want it to or not. THEN the Lore would start to make real sense.

Glad you saw reason at the end... just wanted to add my .02 ISK. Now, with an online clone service, your citadel can serve as your medical station… but only if you prepared for it ahead of time. H"

I could be wrong but as far as I know, you die in WH space, you reactivate in K-space. Your WH Citadel clone bay is exclusively to swap clones, not to jump / resurrect in any form. And thats the way we like it.

Welcome to WH space :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
